Tamsyn Stock-Stafford
Tamsyn Stock-Stafford graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Music from the West Australian Conservatorium of Music in Perth.
Tamsyn has performed the roles of Barbarina in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Arminda in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, , Second Sphinx in Turnage’s Greek, Titania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro all for the Conservatorium of Music.
Masses and oratorios performed include Beethoven’s Mass in C, Mozart’s Mass in C Major and Mass in C Minor, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. She has also performed the Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, with orchestra, and recorded various recitals for ABC Classic FM.
In 2003, Tamsyn won the Ralph Thompson Memorial Scholarship. She was then selected for the West Australian Opera Company’s Young Artist Programme for 2004, which is sponsored by the West Australian Opera Lover’s Association. Subsequently Tamsyn won the Bendat Scholarship.
Last year, Tamsyn performed the soprano solo in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana for the West Australian Opera Company and the soprano solo in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
Earlier this year she performed the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute for the West Australian Opera Company. Future engagements include Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen and Anna in Verdi’s Nabucco both for the West Australian Opera Company.
Most recently Tamsyn won the Australian Singing Competition’s Opera Awards which included the Britten-Pears Young Artist Program and the Glyndeborne Festival prize.
