One of Australia’s most exciting guitarists, Jonathan Paget maintains an active performance schedule while also lecturing in guitar and music theory at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (Edith Cowan University), and the University of Western Australia.
In 1997, Paget received a Fulbright post-graduate award and a Hackett studentship, enabling him to study with Nicholas Goluses at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in upstate New York. There he completed the Doctorate of Musical Arts in guitar performance and literature, and a Master of Arts in music theory pedagogy.
Paget has performed throughout Australia and the U.S., and has frequently appeared on Australian radio. He has won several important competitions, including the Shell Darwin International Guitar Competition (1997), the Ramirez Australian Guitar Competition (Sydney, 1995), and the Rantucci Guitar Competition (Buffalo, 1999). He was also a prizewinner in the 1999 Guitar Foundation of America International Solo Competition. His first CD, entitled “Kaleidoscope," was released in April 2002, being a celebration of the guitar’s multicultural horizons with colourful works from around the worldBook This Performer
