Morgan Cowling

Morgan is currently in her third year at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, studying the Advanced Diploma in Classical Music, Voice. She has also completed the Certificate II in Musical Theatre in 2005 at WAAPA. In 2006 she completed the Solo Seal Award in classical ballet, and is also trained in jazz, modern theatre jazz, tap and contemporary dance. At WAAPA, Morgan appeared as the Spirit in the Opera, ‘Dido and Aeneas’ (2005) and in the annual Opera Scenes as a Bridesmaid in ‘Trial By Jury’ (2005), Guadelena in ‘La Perichole’ (2006) and most recently as the Swallow in ‘The Happy Prince’ (2007), her first major opera role. Morgan’s latest opera experience has been in the involvement of Autonomous Productions’ ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ as Barbarina. Her passion for Musical Theatre continues outside WAAPA, where Morgan was semi-grand finalist in Storm the Stage (2004) and a Grand Finalist in 2005. Her most recent music theatre experience was as a Hotbox girl in the MS Society's production of 'Guys and Dolls' (2006). She has also performed lead roles in ‘Oklahoma’, ‘Pajama Game’, ‘Guys and Dolls’, ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Peter Pan’ and the ‘Wizard of Oz’.
