American-born Laura Bernay is an experienced and incredibly versatile performer with talents as a multi-lingual singer, flautist and pianist.
Renown for her successful “cross-over” styles of singing in several genres from jazz and cabaret to world music and classical, her vocal flexibility and beautiful quality is testimony to her many years of training and performing.
Laura is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne University.
Her work as a singer, pianist and flautist include TV performances, cabaret, jazz and piano bar in Melbourne, Sydney (including a residency at the Don Burrows Supper Club, the Regent ) and Hobart (residency at Wrest Point Casino) in the 80’s and 90’s and later took her all around Australia, Japan, the Middle East, and the USA. Owing to her French Canadian descent Laura has a special interest in French vocal music, is married to a Frenchman and is fluent in French. Consequently chanson is always a totally convincing and attractive part of her performances in whichever style she is performing.
