Benn Hodgkin

From 1996 to 1999, Benn Hodgkin completed a Bachelor of Jazz, during which time he was recipient of the fifth WA Youth Jazz Orchestra Scholarship. He has performed with a number of Perth ’s leading groups, such as Hip-Mo-Toast Big Band, Perth Jazz Orchestra, WA Symphony Orchestra, Thrust, Sabroson, Salamander, and also with interstate and overseas artists including Daryl Somers, Marcia Hines and Jerry Lewis. Benn has also recorded on released albums including Tim Minchin’s “Timmy the Dog:Sit”, Thrust's "Survival of the Funkiest" & Hip-Mo-Toast Big Band’s “Mischievous Girl”.

His trumpet has recently been appreciated at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland, as well as a number of jazz venues in London, Ireland and The Netherlands
